Band Fest Fee Payment Options

There are a number of payment options available for someone interested in participating in the Halifax Community Band Festival.

Registration fees for May 2025 are as follows:

  • $115 – General Registration Fee
  • $90 – Additional Family Member (please specify who)
  • $50 – Full Time Student
  • $10 – Saturday Evening Social Event fee (plus one’s are welcome)

What’s Included: your registration fees help us cover the cost of our weekend guest conductors (flights/travel, accommodation and meals), our instrumental clinicians, purchasing all of the music, having the music copied and distributed, all coffee breaks, rehearsal venue costs, performance venue costs, snacks/food for our Friday evening social event.

Option 1: Payment by Personal Cheque

  1. Please fill out our Halifax Community Band Festival’s secure online registration form here
  2. Write personal cheques payable to the Second Chances Community Band
  3. Mail your cheque directly to the Second Chances Community Band at the following address:

Option 2: Payment by E-mail Money Transfer

  1. Please fill out Halifax Community Band Festival’s secure online registration form here
  2. Log into your personal online banking service using your own username and password
  3. Locate the transfers area and select e-Transfer
  4. Remember some banks will charge a small fee for sending e-transfers
  5. CHANGE FOR 2024! Add a new recipient… please send your payment to our Second Chances Community Band Treasurer using this e-mail address: treasurer.secondchancesbandns@gmail.com (please remember the dot between the word ‘treasurer’ and ‘secondchancesbandns’)
  6. Make sure your name and e-mail address are correct, if they are not you will need to update your online banking information
  7. Select the account, the amount you wish to transfer and select a security question.
  8. IMPORTANT! Second Chances has now been set up for ‘auto-deposit’. This means that you shouldn’t need to create a security question. If, for some reason you do, please ensure the answer to your question is always: hfxbandfest (no capital letters, no spaces)
  9. Click send, review the details and click confirm
  10. You should receive a confirmation e-mail from your bank when the funds are accepted by the Second Chances Band and the transfer is complete (please allow a few days for this to occur)

Option 3: Credit Card Payment using Square.ca

  1. Please fill out our Halifax Community Band Festival’s secure online registration form here
  2. Visa and Master Card will be accepted using our Square.ca service
  3. Payment in Advance: Simply contact our Executive Director, Chris Ward (eloboesolo@gmail.com) or our Band Fest Treasurer, Lori Esling (treasurer.secondchancesbandns@gmail.com) in order to arrange a convenient time for a phone call. You will need to share your credit card number, expiration date, CVV and a postal code where your credit card bill is sent. This information will be promptly destroyed once payment has been made and will not be recorded in any way. Please Note: there will be a $2.50 processing fee added to your  registration fee payment for this service.
  4. Payment During the Weekend: Simply bring along your Visa  or Master Card with you to the reading session held on the first night of the Band Fest weekend and our Executive Director, Chris Ward, or our Band Fest Treasurer, Lori Esling, will be able to use an iPad or iPhone to accept your payment. Please Note: there will be a $2.50 processing fee added to your  registration fee payment for this service.

Option 4: Interac Debit Contactless Payment On-Site using Square.ca

  1. Please fill out our Halifax Community Band Festival’s secure online registration form here
  2. We are now capable of accepting interac debit cards using our Square.ca service
  3. Payment During the Weekend: Simply bring along your Interac Debit Card with you to the reading session held on the first night of the Band Fest weekend and our Executive Director, Chris Ward or Treasurer, Lori Esling, will be able to use an iPad or iPhone to accept your payment. Please Note: there will be a $2.50 processing fee added to your  registration fee payment for this service.
